I hope all is well.
Last week, I was in Dubai, stocking up on all the latest magazines when I noticed in every publication: Vogue, Instyle, Glamour… was talking about the key piece of the season A SUEDE SKIRT. I totally loved the look of this, and all of a sudden I am obsessed with anything WITH suede.
So, my journey to look for this skirt started… it did not take to long because the first store I walked in had the suede skirt displayed on the stand right in front of me (and right in front of the store.) And where did I find this marvelous piece? H&M. Of course, I can rely on H&M for always producing ON TREND pieces with miraculous prices.
To pair with my suede skirt, I wore a Victoria Secret Crop Top underneath my Miss Selfridge lace top. I also added some wonderful Swarvoski bracelets to go with my white, blue, green, and pink colour scheme.
Now for the shoes… nothing else but Valentino’s new rock studs SS15. I love this colour, a nice mix of a mint and turquoise. The height is also UBER realistic as they are a meek heel (perfect for me who loves heels but cannot walk properly in them.)
Last week I mentioned that I love trends but you should never FEEL pressured to completely REDO your wardrobe because of them. Like I said, it is important to keep a few timeless KEY pieces that can be worn throughout any trends, BUT will make you IN TREND throughout the season. For this spring/summer season I feel one of the FEW KEY PIECES is the SUEDE skirt.
Though I used H&M to buy my suede skirt, they are numerous other shops you can purchase one in. I would recommend nearly ANY high street store (Topshop, River Island, Miss Selfridge) and maybe even Urban Outfitters if you are looking for a cool vintage piece. If you are more of a designer individual then you can also check out Maje. I have seen a few of Maje’s suede pieces this season and they are to die for.
The last and VITAL thing I would like to bring up is that THIS IS festival season coming up. I mean COACHELLA is days away. AND suede once again, is the KEY detail for festivals this season, especially because it is totally bohemian. SO don’t go to crazy and buy EVERYTHING suede but I would definitely say that this is a trend worth buying into, whether for your festival coming up or just a trip to the mall.
